The focus of the North Florida Office of Public Guardian, Inc., is to serve the best interest and well-being of our wards. As guardian, we provide the following guardianship services:
Our Guardian Representatives are available whenever you need them.
Our team will secure and ensure any public benefits each ward is entitled to receive.
Our Fiscal Unit will manage and protect the ward's assets and property. Handle the deposits of the ward's income to pay their bills and record their expenditures.
Our team will evaluate and place ward in an appropriate residential setting (e.g. own home, assisted living facility, nursing home);
Our team will evaluate the personal, familial, medical and care needs of the ward; Maintain communication with the ward’s family, if any, based on availability and receptiveness;
Our team will help the person navigate the complex medical system and develop a medical treatment plan that benefits the ward.
Our team will be responsible for arranging Do Not Resuscitate, Termination of Life Support orders and burial arrangements, when necessary.
